Exemptions - What Property Can I Keep?

Filing bankruptcy does not mean that you have to give up all of your property.  You can keep all property which the law says is "exempt" from the claims of creditors. Many exemptions protect specific types of property, such as your home,  a motor vehicle or your wedding ring, pension plans, individual retirement accounts and other personal items.  Sometimes an exemption protects the entire value of the asset. Other times, an exemption protects up to a certain dollar amount of an asset.

Under Wyoming law there are numerous items that are exempted from attachment or, being taken by the court. As your bankruptcy attorney I will explain your rights and what property is protected under the federal and state laws.
